Having raised my family in the community, I have a deep appreciation for the many things that make Medicine Hat one of the most desirable communities in Canada, including access to social services, recreational facilities and the beautiful parks and trails within our borders.
I have had the pleasure of dedicating over forty years of service to our community, helping to ensure that Medicine Hat is a vibrant and safe home for everyone. Having spent the past twelve years as the Chief of Police, I feel fortunate to have gained a unique perspective about the issues that are important to Hatters. It is important to me that the vulnerable members of our community have a voice at City Hall, and I look forward to continuing work to reduce poverty and enhance social services.
With many important fiscal issues facing Hatter’s this fall, such as ownership of our utilities and developing our recreational master plan, I know it is important to the community that City Hall is focused on solutions, not roadblocks.
Having obtained a Masters of Arts in Leadership and Adult Training, I look forward to finding creative and pragmatic solutions to engage with and support decision-makers and ensure Hatter’s priorities are number one. As a member of City Council, my commitment to Hatter’s this fall will be to address each issue through an ethical, pragmatic, community-first approach.
Thank you, Andy McGrogan.
